On World Conservation Day the Tōtara for Tōtaranui Project undertook a planting day in Resolution Bay.
12 different native species were planted: Tawa, Kahikatea, Rimu, Hinau, Red, Black, Hard and Silver Beech, Totara, Matai, Horopito, Kamahi and Nikau Palm.

But when you look closely you see the damage to the undergrowth caused by wild goats, pigs and deer who eat the next generation of the forest and cause a hollowing out of the forest.
